Building Your CDA Professional Portfolio
10 Clock Hours of Early Childhood Education
This course is designed to help you meet the requirements for the Professional Portfolio that is required to apply for the National CDA Credential. We will provide step-by-step guidelines for building the CDA Professional Portfolio. Included are easy to use templates and helpful resources for building your portfolio. The Professional Portfolio is one of the main components that the CDA Council requires for a National CDA Credential.

Learning Outcomes:
- After reading about the requirements of the Professional Portfolio as set forth by the CDA Council, participants will be able to create and organize their resources through assignment submissions.
- After reading about creating lesson plans that align with the age group they are obtaining their CDA Credential in, participants will be able to demonstrate developing lesson plans through assignment submissions.
- After reading about how to construct their competency standard statements based upon their personal experiences working with children, participants will be able to create these through assignment submissions.
- After reading about locating community resources in their area to support families, participants will be able to compile and submit these through assignment submission.
- After reading about how they support children's behavior and self-concept, participants will be able to describe this through assignment submission.
- After reading about how to write their philosophy of how they teach young children, participants will be able to write and submit this through assignment submission.
- After reading about how they use observation tools to support young children's learning, participants will be able to demonstrate this through assignment submission.
- After reading about the ways they communicate with families and how they support children's home life, participants will be able to explain this through the assignment submission.
- After reading about how their classroom environment is set up to support children's learning, participants will be able to describe this through assignment submission.
