Understanding Course Accreditation in Early Childhood Education

Successful Solutions Professional Development LLC BBB Business Review

Prospective students often inquire about course accreditation, sometimes without fully knowing the specific criteria they need to meet. It’s important to recognize that Early Childhood Education does not follow a one-size-fits-all accreditation standard—requirements vary based on state regulations, employer expectations, and professional credentialing organizations.

When considering enrollment, it's essential to ensure that the courses align with your specific needs and are accepted in your state or by your licensing agency. Simply asking, "Are you accredited?" may not provide the clarity needed, as accreditation alone doesn’t determine whether a course meets your particular training requirements.
To make the best decision, students should review state-specific guidelines and verify that the training fulfills the necessary educational criteria for their desired certification or career path.

Here are the things that you need to consider when inquiring if the training is valid:

Picture
1) What type of training or certificate do you need?
  • Do you require annual training?
  • The initial basic training?
  • The CDA training?
Picture
2) What state do you work in?
  • For annual training and initial basic training, the courses must be approved by the state licensing entity.
  • For the CDA, the courses must meet the criteria outlined by the Council of Professional Recognition. The training for the CDA is not state specific.

3) Are you intending to use a scholarship or grant to pay for your CDA Training or annual training?
  • Some funding sources require specific accreditation. This is generally the only case where the word "accreditation" actually means anything when looking for approved early childhood training.

4)Are you looking to earn a college degree or obtain college credit?
  • If so, you will need to reach out to a college or university, as we do not offer accredited college credits.
  • At Successful Solutions, we are a state-approved training organization, dedicated to providing high-quality early childhood professional development. Our programs are designed to meet state standards, help educators stay compliant, and support career advancement in the field of Early Childhood Education.
