OSPI Clock Hours
Successful Solutions Training in Child Development offers DCYF approved clock hours. As of September 2019, our courses can be used to meet OSPI clock hours continuing education requirements.
Clock hours are a unit of currency for continuing education. They can be used to obtain and renew certificates for Washington teachers, administrators, educational staff associates (ESAs), and are now used in the paraeducator certificate program.
- Continuing education hours (STARS hours) from the Washington Department of Children, Youth & Families (DCYF) will be accepted as clock hours.
- The minimum time for a clock hour course has been reduced from three hours to one hour.
Educators should provide us with their STARS ID number and we will record their training in MERIT upon completion. A certificate is also provided to the educator, though it is not required by OSPI for verification of training.
OSPI does not require a certificate or a verification form when DCYF STARS courses are completed through an approved training source, the completed training will be recorded in MERIT. DCYF can be contacted for further information at: [email protected]
If you have questions about individual certificates, please contact the OSPI certification office at [email protected] or (360) 725-6400.
