Overview:
It is important to provide a variety of experiences to support children’s positive guidance. Unit 7 describes how you can create developmentally appropriate experiences that engage children in meaningful interactions. You will learn about the importance of evaluation as a way to know whether the curriculum that you provide to children in your classroom are successful and what aspects of the program need improvement. This lesson describes how your environment can create meaningful opportunities for children’s growth and learning about positive guidance. You will also learn about addressing children’s individual differences and what to do if you are concerned about a child’s development.

Unit 7 Review
Overview:

CDA applicants must complete a full 120 hours of training for professional early childhood education.
This course is designed to meet the educational requirements for the National CDA Credential. Once you complete all 8 Units, you will have the required formal education to apply for a Child Development Associate Credential.

Refer to pages 8-9 in the CDA Competency Standards Book for more information on training requirements to apply for the CDA Credential.
State Annual Training Approvals
This course is designed to meet the educational requirements for the National CDA Credential. Once you complete all 8 Units, you will have the required formal education to apply for a Child Development Associate Credential.
This training may, or may not, meet annual training requirements in your state. Please provide us with your state, and any State registry ID number, and if we are able to record your completed training with your state, we will. In some cases, for annual state credit, you will need to submit the certificate to the appropriate registry and they may or may not award annual credit. The training is approved for the National CDA Credential regardless of whether annual continuing education credit is awarded.
Providing a State Registry number to us does not guarantee that your state will approve the training for annual continuing education credit.
Many states have QRIS systems that require specific courses to be completed for annual or in-service training. Do not enroll in this course for the purpose of completing a state specific mandated course.
