Making sure to move around the room during centers and interacting and engaging with every child daily and working with them one on one to make sure I get on their unique level and development. I would love to do more one on one table work with kids more frequently to really help them blossom and improve developmentally.

In my classroom we are always observing. At the beginning of a "year" we do an assessment (and when a new child comes into our room) and use that assessment to gauge where the child is at developmentally and where they need to be. Daily we prepare lessons and provide activities that cater to the different stages that our students are in.

I definitely have to adjust the classroom, activities, and what I do for each child and depending on the whole group of children. If there are some children that can do things before others then I adjust a curriculum allowing for all children to be able to participate in a way that’s most beneficial to them. There are some children that require more emotional attention then others so that changes the whole dynamics of the classroom. I always do my best to accommodate encourage and support each individual child.

So many things! I think the thing I do best for individual child development is to consider each child for who they are as a unique and capable little human! I spend a lot of time early on in the year getting to know and understand each child and their own strengths, weaknesses, and personalities. It's a big invest of time but I think that it really helps me to support each child. There is always room for improvement with all aspects of my teaching and I am constantly working to make it better!
